We usually have a few boards in stock, otherwise it’ll be 1-2 days to get something sent up to us or delivered direct to your door. If you buy a board from us we always throw in a free lesson and a how-to-get-everything-set-up session too. And we can usually arrange a demo session so you can try before you buy. We are stockists for Red Paddle Co, the world’s leading brand of inflatable paddleboards. (These are the boards we use in all our school fleets, as well). They’re superior to all the other inflatable brands out there, in performance, longevity, durability, quality of fittings, etc etc. Come and try one, and you’ll see what we mean! We don’t always have every model in stock but can order anything in within a couple of days, and we can ship to anywhere in NZ.
We also have accounts with many other leading paddleboard brands, including some great Kiwi brands such as Moana SUP. You’re always best off buying from a reputable well-established brand, & we only deal with genuine manufacturers who have been around a long time, are serious about the sport and offer good after-sales service.
Yes, they might cost a bit more but you get what you pay for with paddleboards. The cheap ones from the chain/discount stores may only last a year. Red Paddle Co boards will probably last 10 years or more, and perform better too. Plus which, we offer a local’s discount to all Bay of Islands residents so you can afford to aim for higher quality anyway.
We often have some clearance and ex-stock boards for sale too. They generally sell super quickly and there’s often a waiting list, so we don’t list them online, but it’s worth giving us a call to see if we do happen to have anything, or are expecting anything to come on to the marketplace in the near future. Give us a call or drop us a line.
A general purpose all-rounder paddleboard package (ie including paddle and legrope etc), will cost between around $1200 and $1600 new. Yes, you can find cheaper gear elsewhere, but you get what you pay for in paddleboarding. It’s a very false economy to go cheap – the performance, durability, longevity and resale value will be much reduced, and you’ll get minimal warranty, and probably zero after-sales service. Cheap boards may only last a season – a good board can last ten years. Do you really want to buy something that might well fall apart next time you take it to the beach or out on the boat?
However, if that’s beyond your budget we do from time to time have clearance and ex fleet boards, for sale at great prices. Just as with buying cars, boats, etc, you’re actually much better off getting a used high-quality board than a new low-quality cheapo.

No, we have accounts with ‘hard board’ brands and can supply whatever you need. However, the reason we focus primarily on inflatables is because for the majority of users, particularly when it comes to general purpose, family all-round use, then you simply can’t beat a high quality inflatable! Super easy to store and transport, much more durable and astonishingly high performance too… what’s not to like!? It’s for this reason that globally, the large majority of paddleboards sold now are inflatables. In some countries it’s as high as 90% of the market.

We always have a good stock of high quality general purpose adjustable and three piece paddles. So if you’ve lost (or just forgotten!) your paddle, call ahead to make sure we’re in (because we may be out on the water!), and you can pop round and collect one any time, weekdays, weekends, evenings, etc. Or we can even drop it round to you, or bring it to you up at Doves Bay Marina if you’re on a boat.

Leashes – we have a variety of straight, coiled, and quick-release leashes in stock.
Beltpack PFDs.
It is a legal requirement to wear a PFD when you are on SUP. We have several different models of beltpack PFD in stock, as well as a few permanent buoyancy PFDs.
Fins
We have a selection of different sizes and styles of fins and fin-bolts in stock. Unfortunately we’re not able to carry spares of all the wide variety of one-off fin fixing systems that many of the lower-priced paddleboards use, but we certainly have fins to fit the main finbox systems (US box, FCS, Futures, etc).

Keep that UV off your board! Perfect for keeping your board inflated on your boat, or in your garden. Various sizes available.
